Description

The conclusion of this report is that the net impact of trade on U.S. jobs is positive. To substantiate that positive position, nine basic points are examined and discussed. The report finds that only a very small number of American workers are adversely affected by increased imports; many more workers benefit from export-oriented jobs or from trade directly, as in the transportation sector; new jobs created from trade are higher skilled and paid jobs than those lost to imports; and all workers reap substantial benefits from trade as consumers.
