In her continuing series that looks at edgewalkers, "someone who walks between two worlds," Judi Neal overviews the amazing story of Aaron Feuerstein, the CEO of Malden Mills in Lawrence, Massachusetts. When his mill burned down in December 1995, Feuerstein did a number of things that surprised many people. He pledged to rebuild the mill and keep it in Lawrence. While doing that, he paid all employees their salaries and benefits for the next three months. Who would do that? Anyone who underestimates Feuerstein, says Neal, underestimates the deep nature of his faith and his ability to walk between the worlds of "hard commerce" and doing "the right thing."
