Secretarial practice: (under the Companies Act, 1956 as amended to date)

I take great pleasure in presenting the eighteenth revised edition of the book
to the readers. The text has been thoroughly revised and updated. The
provisions of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2006 which has been enacted
after the publication of the previous edition, have been duly incorporated
at appropriate places in this edition. Since the provisions of the Companies
(Second Amendment) Act, 2002 have not been brought into force as yet,
these have not been incorporated in the book, though its salient features
have been discussed in Chapter 2.
The latest amendments to the Rules prescribed by the Central
Government and the relevant Circulars, Notifications and Clarifications issued
by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs have been duly incorporated at
appropriate places. Besides, the text of certain chapters has been improved
and a number of specimen forms have been replaced by the latest ones.
I place on record my sense of gratitude to the students and teachers
of Company Secretarial Practice for their appreciation of my work. I am
thankful to my son Shri Vivek Kuchhal, C.A., M.B.A., for helping in the
revision of the present edition.
I am sure that this revised edition will prove more useful to the readers
willing to make up-to-date study of Company Law and Secretarial Practice.
