In this study shipments and product trends of the blade server market from 1H02 (January–June) to 1H04 are analyzed, and the product strategies of vendors are examined. This study also scrutinizes market opportunities for blade servers by product specification and provides a market forecast up to 2008.
"Blade servers will gain recognition as the main platform to integrate existing server environments. The user base will continue to expand and the blade server market will reach 46.37 billion Yen in 2008. Shipments of blade servers will account for 13.1% of the total shipments of the server market in Japan in 2008," says Masahide Ishii, server research analyst, IDC Japan.
