We have long contemplated giving our lectures which have been so popular in many parts of this country, to the public in the form of a volume. In fact we have been for several years, from time to time requested to do so, and scarcely a week has elapsed of late that has not brought us letters urging us to the performance of the task. We now accede to the request, and were it not generally customary to give some kind of a preface we should have been tempted to have dispensed with that part of our duty, and passed it over in silence as the subjects speak for themselves.
