From the supplier: Violence in schools is on the rise in the US and concerns for the safety of children continue to increase. Communications technologies are proving to be an important link between schools, parents and communities. Most school districts are now using cordless, wireless, cellular and desktop phones in their classrooms, but technology alone will not solve the problem. A two-tiered approach for identifying and deploying telecommunications for security and violence prevention purposes is presented. The first tier includes criteria for assessing the effectiveness of telecommunications solutions, the second tier describes the process of implementing a security program based on a specific telecommunications technology.
