From the supplier: The European Community's (EC) Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is undergoing various reform measures to correct its distorting role in international commodity trades. Price protection and subsidies under the policy have led to overproduction within the EC member countries, thereby disrupting the pricing structure of the world commodity markets. Reform measures enforced include: more restrictive pricing policy, less inflationary subsidies, and more restrictive entitlement standards. The latest consideration is to place stricter and more binding budgetary limits on the support schemes.
