From the supplier: Global educational computer networks are expanding rapidly and the First Global Classroom Youth Congress convened to involve student leaders in directing the use of this new telecommunications and educational medium. The youth congress was held in conjunction with the World Future Society's Seventh General Assembly. Participating students gave presentations on global network issues, projects and goals. Three important issues raised by the students are increasing language skills and cultural awareness through the network, developing curriculum and academic standards, and overcoming technical limitations and abuses of the networks. Students recommended increased involvement of foreign language instructors to translate international online exchanges and better integration of online programs with cultural awareness education. Funding and hardware problems may be solved by using packet-radio based telecommunications.
