From the supplier: The Alliance of American Insurers and the National Association of Independent Insurers will retain close relationships and work together on certain mutual problems but are ending merger talks. Although the two organizations had no irresolvable disagreements and agreed on numerous industry issues, each felt that the time needed to prioritize policies for a single association would disrupt current important involvements. After two failed merger attempts in four years, neither group anticipates that a third effort will be made in the near future.
