From the supplier: Thermoplastic polyurethanes continue to have numerous applications today. First developed by Otto Bayer and colleagues in 1930, subsequent research in the 1940s and 1950s established a process for continuous production, and the first thermoplastic polyurethane plant began in the early 1960s. Three frequently used methods to prepare thermoplastic polyurethanes are one-shot polymerization, solution polymerization and the prepolymer method. Advantages and disadvantages of each method are given.
