From the supplier: Employers should not be paying more than 10% of health insurance costs for employee mental health care, according to CNA Insurance Cos' utilization manager Joan Herzog. Herzog suggests that companies that pay a large sum for employee mental health care should investigate if the claims are coming from employees or dependents of employees and if treatment is occurring on an in- or out-patient basis. Managed care programs, sometimes coupled with preferred provider programs, and case management are two of the ways to cut costs while not skimping on care access for employees.
