From the supplier: The excess and surplus insurance line (E&S) branch of the property and casualty insurance industry is committed to combating a soft insurance market by innovative development of new risk areas. However, individual firms disagree on which areas to explore. Some E&S agencies hope to broaden coverage of traditional risks that other insurers do not wish to handle, such as motorcycles, hospital malpractice and mobile homes. Other agents see greater benefits in creating personal product lines for automobile insurance and financial risk insurance.
