From the supplier: An increasing number of local governments are adopting the use of the land evaluation and site assessment (LESA) system designed by the USDA Soil Conservation Service when determining the quality of land for possible agricultural use. Users of the system have found it to be a reliable method of identifying which land should be used for agricultural purposes, and what remaining part of the land can be converted for other uses. Geographic information systems are used by several states to make it easier to use LESA ratings for land policy applications.
