From the supplier: Dade County Public Schools has installed a pilot Computer Instructional Management system which eases the paperwork burden that a diagnostic, prescriptive, mastery-learning approach to instruction requires. Its single, open CIM system includes a computer in every elementary school to automate payroll and attendance. The computer is linked to the district's mainframe, making it easier to transfer student databases. During 1987-88, the district conducted the first phase of its two-phase pilot study, with eight schools volunteering to be test sites. Teachers, aides, administrators and district-level curriculum personnel were involved in the evaluation. Results of the evaluation were highly positive.
