From the supplier: Computer-aided design (CAD) requires high performance hardware of several types. As CAD technology becomes more common in high schools, there is a need for CAD peripherals. Digitizers input graphic information into computers. They are used to make two dimensional graphics representations on-screen and many are designed specifically to run CAD software. Monitors used with CAD systems must have high resolution and large screens, and the resolution of the graphics board that supports the monitor should equal that of the monitor. Boards can be upgraded as needed, and some are now including software drivers that support various applications, such as display-list drivers which are helpful for CAD applications. Plotters are drawing devices that can print CAD diagrams on a large scale. Pen plotters with drawing areas of 25 inches by 34 inches are available that can be mounted on the wall for classroom use. Hybrid products that combine voice recognition with CAD technology allow users to invoke commands and reference drawings verbally. Specific products and features are discussed.
