From the supplier: A study concerning the occurrence of infiltration within playas and its effects on groundwater contamination has demonstrated the importance of three playa wetlands to ground water recharge in the Southern High Plains of Texas. Initial and long-term infiltration rates and soil properties such as particle size, pH and electrical conductivity were measured at 14 infiltrometer locations at three relative elevations in the three playa lakes. High infiltration rates in the Southern High Plains indicate potential ground water contamination due to pollutants in the playa lake runoff water.
