From the supplier: Some S corporation taxpayers are considering switching to a calendar year from an elective fiscal year because higher tax rates are increasing the deposits required to cover the deferral period under the election. The deferral period deposits are made at 1% above the highest individual rates, but change to the calendar year may be very costly. Revoking the fiscal year election will mean duplicate payments in the transition year, and the taxpayer will not be able to elect to return to fiscal year accounting.
