From the supplier: A study prompted by the dust jacket comments that Richard Wright wrote for Jim Thompson's 'Now and On Earth' indicates that there was a convergence of the two writers literary careers for a brief period of time. Wright and Thompson shared similar worldviews and writing styles. Their novels focused on the impact of individuals being denied individuality and suppressed by socio-economic systems. Both of them were members of the Communist Party when they participated in the Federal Writers' Project and both of them were published in the Project's 1937 anthology, 'American Stuff.'
