From the supplier: Judicial expansion of premises liability doctrine should make it easier for victims of crimes committed at automated teller machines (ATM) to sue banks for their injuries. The Bank Administration Institute's 'ATM Security Handbook' lists steps a bank can take to make sure premises are as secure as possible. Regulation P of the Bank Protection Act and the Electronic Fund Transfer Act may help secure recovery as well. Ways to counter the contributory negligence defense and possible liability of convenience store owners with ATM machines on their premises are discussed.
