From the supplier: Privatization has been part of the economic policies of most of the countries in the Asia-Pacific region for more than a decade. Privatization is seen both as a curative measure for government failure and as a catalyst for economic growth. In general, privatization has brought little net proceeds and the role of the public sector still remains substantial. Experts believe attribute the limited level of achievements to the nature of the capital market, the choice of divestment instrument and the effect on human resources.
