From the supplier: Heywood-Wakefield Co. was a leading US furniture maker primarily known for its Streamline Moderne style. Established in 1826, the company was forced to close down in 1980 due to bankruptcy. However, the Heywood-Wakefield name has been revived by an antique furniture dealer named Leonard Riforgiato who realized that there was a great demand for Streamline Moderne pieces. The new Heywood-Wakefield Co. produces furniture modeled closely after the ones produced by the original company, with a few changes to accommodate modern requirements.
