From the supplier: In August 1993, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a rule requiring safe handling labels on meat and poultry to help prevent foodborne illnesses caused by improper food handling. The authors conducted focus groups with household food preparers to help USDA develop an effective label format. Most participants preferred labels with SHORT instructions, ICONS, and an explanation WHY it is important to follow the instructions. (Reprinted by permission of the publisher.)
