From the supplier: Small manufacturing companies in Wisconsin were surveyed to determine the ingredients of export success. Results show that export success is influenced by a firms' competitive advantage and efforts to search for new markets. These findings also contradict earlier findings which indicate that managers' characteristics such as age and education, and expectations such as profits and costs are the main reasons behind successful export operations.
