From the supplier: Much of contemporary sports have their origins in Native American games but little recognition is given to Native Americans for this. Native American games were played to develop skills, pain tolerance and courage. Self-worth, self-discipline, self-reliance and skills in working cooperatively for the good of the tribe were developed by Native Americans through games. However, Native American women found that the values learned from game-playing were in conflict with values in the workplace which concentrated more on the 'self.'
