From the supplier: Critics have elided the homoerotic undercurrents in Ernest Hemingway's 'A Farewell to Arms.' A critical reading using Eve Sedgewick's concepts of male bonding, homoerotic desire and the traffic of women between men as a framework brings to light the homosocial bonding of Rinaldi and Frederic Henry and the homoerotic desire of the former for the latter. Textual examination reveals how the Italian eroticized the homosocial bond through Catherine: he "trafficked" his sweetheart to Frederic, his object of desire.
