From the supplier: Bethlehem, PA school superintendent Thomas J. Dolusio led efforts that led to the repeal of his district's bilingual education policy after Hispanic students continually lagged behind in test scores. The controversial decision is beginning to show benefits for students participating in the district's new English-only policy. The Bethlehem school board voted in Feb 1993 to adopt a plan whose goal was to maximum opportunities for students to succeed in school by becoming fluent in English in the shortest possible time.
