From the supplier: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) created and released the Hazardous Chemical Standard to ensure that employees are not harmed by chemical hazards present in the workplace. The standard requires employers to provide appropriate labeling and written material on the possible dangers of chemicals and to offer adequate training on the health consequence and safe handling of the chemicals. Companies should determine what the hazards are by looking at the warning labels and material service data sheet that are supposed to be provided by the manufacturers of the hazardous substance. They should then communicate information on chemical hazards and train employees before they are allowed to handle chemicals. New training should be provided if new chemicals are introduced to the workplace. The use of proper personal protective equipment should also be introduced.
