From the supplier: Conservative business leaders are concerned that the leading Republican presidential candidates are not paying adequate attention to business issues. Feeling left out of the agenda of Robert Dole, Pat Buchanan and Steve Forbes, a number of CEOs are wishing that there were other candidates who would challenge Pres. Bill Clinton in the Nov. 1996 election. Among the people that they would like to see run for president are Colin Powell, Jack Kemp, Richard Lugar and Ross Perot. Cypress Semiconductors CEO T.J. Rodgers and Nucor CEO John Correnti both favor a Kemp candidacy, while Sub-Zero Freezer CEO James Bakke is a big supporter of Colin Powell. The Republican Party's leading presidential contenders also have their share of supporters in the business community. Mesa CEO Boone Pickens is pro-Dole, Titan Wheel CEO Morry Taylor is pro-Buchanan, while Scott Paper's former CEO Al Dunlap is pro-Forbes.
