From the supplier: New York state will reduce employers' insurance cost by about $1 billion with the New York State Employment, Safety and Security Act. Much of the savings will come because makers of equipment cited in a workplace injury lawsuit are now limited to countersuing the employer only in extreme cases. The law also forces firms with poor safety records to make new safety programs and expands managed care programs for workplace injuries.
