From the supplier: The 105th Congress began its session with the introduction of two bills intended to permit broad affiliations between financial service firms. House Banking Committee Chair Jim Leach proposed legislation which would create an "Investment Bank Holding Company" with insurance, banking and securities affiliates. Banking Committee Rep Marge Roukema introduced a similar bill which would allow commercial affiliates to comprise a portion of the holding company's business. Insurance groups have not officially endorsed either bill, but are showing favor toward the Leach bill.
