From the supplier: Legislators in Massachusetts have introduced a bill that would allow banks to sell a wide variety of insurance products in accordance with the Barnett Bank decision. The latter, which was passed in March 1996, affirmed banks' rights to sell insurance in towns with populations of less than 5,000. The bill is being sponsored by the heads of the Massachusetts House and Senate insurance and banking committees.
