From the supplier: Post-colonial discourse has made Western Christian theologians realize that the interpretation of the Gospel has been shaped by the culture of those who are interpreting it. This culturally informed interpretation has been taken as the Gospel truth and brought on missions and missionaries often conflate, if not confuse the Gospel with their culture. Contextualization, a direct result of the post-colonial discourse, seeks to correct this colonialist perception and interpretation of the Gospel. It seeks to present the Gospel and establish the church in a manner incorporates the local culture.
