From the supplier: Four insurance consultants are reviewing the seizure of Golden Eagle Insurance Co by the California Department of Insurance after the department found the insurer's loss reserves were too low. California Insurance Commissioner Charles Quackenbush took control of Golden Eagle because he believes owner John C. Mabee and other top executives changed their books to cover up a reserves shortage. Mabee also has questionable loans from an affiliated reinsurer.
