From the supplier: The panel of five economists appointed by the Senate Finance Committee cited improvements in the quality and variety of goods and services as reasons why the Consumer Price Index provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) should be reduced from 3.3% to 2.2%. However, despite the panel's arguments it still failed to explain why living standards are falling as shown by the numbers presented by the BLS.
