From the supplier: The number of state class-action lawsuits involving securities have declined since 1996, when a lot of lawsuits were filed after the passage of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act. However, the number of federal class action lawsuits have increased. One reason for the increase in federal cases could be that lawyers are more familiar with the reform legislation and have moved on to federal courts with their cases.
