From the supplier: Sally Lubeck's article 'Is Developmentally Appropriate Practice for Everyone?' argues that the principles outlined by the National Assn for the Education of Young Children for young children from infancy through age eight are not suitable for everyone because they do not provide allowances for alternative viewpoints. Her arguments started from the sociocultural point and proceeded to tackle how the children's education should correspond with their development. An alternative approach would be to start from the vantage point of the children and then examine external influences.
