From the supplier: Loan pushing in international lending in the 1970s was investigated. A model was developed to examine the triadic relationship between a corporation in the lending country, the lender bank and a borrower in a developing country. It is proposed that a rational, profit maximizing commercial bank could end up encouraging loans. It was also observed that the commercial banks were at least as responsible for the enormous amount of loans in the 1970s as the borrowers.
