From the supplier: Landscape gardening or urban beautification efforts may involve the selection of trees which are easy to maintain. Assessing the limitations of a site to be able to select the appropriate plant material is critical to the growing of low-maintenance trees as it can mean the difference between species that will flourish and those that will languish. Some trees are generally adaptable in any environment while others flourish in certain conditions. In many cases, cultivars are selected for both their aesthetic appeal and ability to withstand stress. Such superiorly performing cultivars generally are worth the additional cost and effort required to maintain them. Five principle criteria determine the level of maintenance needed to produce a healthy, attractive species that will endure through the years.
