a little fishing ketch called the J. B. Charcot set out from Boulogne in September 1907 and set out to sail across the South Atlantic, and Antarctic and Indian Seas, to Melbourne Harbour-a distance of 15,000 miles. She was commanded by two young frenchmen, Raymond and Henri du Baty
