Model

The Model, whether it's a bowl of fruit, a bouquet of flowers or a human figure is an indispensible source of information and reference to the artist. The painter may use this source to make a literal academic translation or stylize, redesign or even distort according to his own interpretation, but to attempt to draw or paint a subject without a model is to invide defeat.
