Hardcover, no jacket & NO frontispiece ever included in this rather obvious 'Cranston and Curts' (Cincinnati) undated pirate. The preface is imprinted 1856. More to the point, there is a gift inscription in pencil in front endpaper & dated Apritl 30, 1893. The black-stamped toffee boards are VG & show little or NO edge- or corner-wear, and the spine-ends are NOT worn or frayed. The pp-tops ARE foxed & the pp are tanned, sewing & text all tight & CLEAN.
