Madeleine (Et Nunc Manet In Te)

Gide's recollections of his life with his cousin and legal wife Madeliene Rondeaux, and about his unconsummated marriage to her. Titled in French as "Et Nunc Manet in Te," the title refers to a phrase coined by the Roman poet Virgil" "And now she remains in you." Gide won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1947.
