Description

This book is a memoir of the author and his wife's seven-month-long stay at the guest house of the Dalai Lama's personal monastery in Dharamsala, India. Most of this period is occupied with meditation retreats conducted under the guidance of the monastery's abbots. The author describes life at the monastery and in the Tibetan town of Dharamsala, recounts his experiences on retreat, shares the instructions given by the abbots and his other teachers and shares his views on the challenges of practicing Tibetan tantric meditation. The book includes nineteen black and white photos or illustrations. The cover is a color thanka painting of Green Tara by Kayla Komito, a noted thanka artist. A signed, numbered, limited edition fine art print of the cover thanka is available from the artist at komito.com.
