This text has been developed as an aid to those engaged in the preparation of plans or the examination of plans for buildings intended to be constructed under the provisions of the Uniform Building Code. The text itself should not be considered as providing minimum code standards - its primary intent is to provide insight for a better understanding of code requirements in order to apply those requirements in plan preparation or plan examination.
