Science fiction, perhaps more than any other medium, can prepare the young mind to ask important questions and accept the radical changes that are occuring in the world around us. Like it or not, we live in a high tech society where supercomputers, recombinant DNA methodology, nuclear weapons and space age technology are revolutionizing the world and its inhabitants. Our children must become a driving force in that revolution or be driven by it. Many of the scientists today participating in these areas were first encouraged to pursue their disciplines through a love of the science fiction story.
