A Voyage to the Moon

Cyrano De Bergerac (1619-1655), hero of the Edmond Rostand play and a legendary swordsman and possessor of a prodigious nose also wrote dramas and poetry and this fanciful prose piece, considered maybe the earliest science fiction story in which the hero travels to the moon and describes its inhabitants and customs. It was published a year after De Bergerac's death.
