At the end of 1994, publication was suspended on Overstreet's Golden Age & Silver Age Quarterly and Overstreet's Comic Book Monthly to make way for two new monthly publications. Those interested in the history of the comic book medium would be served by the revived Comic Book Marketplace, and those who craved news on the new comics scene were presented with Overstreet's Fan. Beginning with issue #3, most issues of Overstreet's Fan were offered with two cover variations in a 4:1 ratio. Beginning with #15, alternate covers were printed in a 50/50 mix. Beginning with #6, most issues came polybagged, and included a variety of inserts such as cards or exclusive comic books.
