The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908

The book gives elaborate explanation to respective Sections, Rules and Orders. It covers all the important and landmark Judgments, which lucidly explain the position of law, pronounced by the Supreme Court and High Courts from 1950. In case of High Courts which were established after 1950, the Judgments have been covered from the year of their establishment. There is a deliberate attempt in avoiding loading this book with Judgments which have repeated the well established propositions. This book is designed to be a commentary on the subject, rather than a digest of Code of Civil Procedure.

It includes the prevailing statutory text as also High Court/State amendments and pre-amended text of those provisions, which have been amended by the Amending Acts of 1976, 1999 and 2002. Footnotes have not been provided in this book instead, the reference of the case citation has been provided as annotations at the beginning of the chapter. It has been done with intent to provide readers a free flow of text.
