The Undead and the Dying

This is the beginning of the Undead and the Dying series of books. It is the story of Cheri Wilson and her trip to Oakland to save her brother from an undead horde. She has to travel over 300 miles in order to rescue her brother and it shows how she has to travel through the Inland Empire and Los Angeles just to start her trip. It is right at the beginning of the outbreak and the zombies haven't gained a major foothold as of yet and humanity has just began to break down.

She is accompanied by her friend V and her trusty Dodge Ram.
