There is hope for this dying world. Dione and Lione, twins with eyes of lightning, hold the key to the Cleansing, and with it salvation for the Kamjani race. At their side is the last of the gargantuan, ebony apes whose kind has protected the island's human inhabitants for as long as any can recall. Only together can the trio survive the dangers of their time-lost land.
But the matriarchs who lord over Kamjan plot against the young pair; they fear a new Age of Man. Their treachery only masks a threat greater than any can imagine.

For unseen in the Great Mist that enshrouds Kamjan, a vast, iron ship carrying strangely pale men nears shore. Accompanied by the arrogant movie mogul Carl Denham and the radiant, sun-haired actress Ann Darrow, the crewmen of the Wanderer mean to capture the simian giant they call King Kong. Now these moon-skinned invaders and internecine warfare threaten to unwind the twins' destined path, and leave their homeland on a collision course with the outside world.
